Question Period:
Ontario’s Public Safety Radio Network
On October 15, 2018, Goldie Ghamari asked the Hon. Michael Tibollo, Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, about the state of the communications infrastructure relied upon by emergency personnel and first responders in Ontario.
The aging Ontario Public Safety Radio Network is used by over 38,000 emergency response personnel in Ontario as a critical means of coordinating disaster response. MPP Ghamari was pleased to hear that Government of Ontario is committed to fully modernizing this critical network to bring it into compliance with the P25 standard in North America.
In the wake of recent tornadoes touching down in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, MPP Ghamari and the Government of Ontario are committed to ensuring that first responders across the riding of Carleton and Ontario have access to the tools they need to keep Ontarians safe.
